OKULIX Use of the program

TMS-Workstation (new version)

In this configuration, the program needs an USB memory stick as a dongle.
The software is also stored on this stick and has to be copied to the system disk prior to the first use.
Installation is performed after double clicking to SETUP, see fig.31.
Old versions (if any) are overwritten. The further procedure is shown in fig.32, 33, 34 and 35.

First, all other applications should be closed. Then double click to SETUP which is stored on the USB memory stick. The proposed target directory C:\TMS\OKULIX has to be confirmed. Then OKULIX software is installed (10-20s). Finally this window should be closed. The system is ready for use now.

After creating a TMS single map, set cursor into the image area and click right mouse button (upper image). Then activate the "Start OKULIX" field and click to "Apply to This Mapâ€".

Figure 34 and 35: Parameter Input

The upper image shows the input of axial length, target refraction and of the pupil width, for which the IOL calculation shall be optimized. Entering a pupil width different from the default of 2.5mm is particularly usefull for patients who want to drive at night without spectacles. After that, the eye has to be selected (lower image).

Figure 36 and 37: IOL Calculation

The different measuring devices on the market give different results. As far as data are available, these devices are calibrated relative to each other for OKULIX, based on the results of several hundert patient data. Therefore, the instrument has to be selected that was used for axial length measurement (top).
The results of the calculation are shown for up to four IOL types (bottom). They can be printed out (PRINT). One of these four IOL can be selected (here: the upper left one), and clicking to OKULIX details allows the full functionality of OKULIX for that lens. new IOL types is to modify the preselection. The current topographic data can be stored inside OKULIX and in the internal OKULIX format by clicking to store topo.

Figure 38: Selection of IOL Types

The right field shows the IOL already selected, the left one is a list of all available types. In maximum, four IOL can be selected. Each IOL in the right list can be removed by exclude, each one in the left can be added by include as long as place is available in the right list. Only rotationally symmetrical posterior chamber IOL can be preselected with this menue. Other IOL (anterior chamber IOL, toric IOL) are available under OKULIX details, see fig.36.
